Samuel Curtis, also known as Stingray Sam, is an interplanetary trader born on New Terra. As he was the son of two criminals that were sent to New Pluto, he was raised on foster homes. He became a pilot. He worked (and lived) for 10 years on planet Deadwood moving all around the frontier. He has made many strange allies (like the late Blueberry Pirate(!)) but more than a few enemies (like the criminal Professor Hess(!)).

2122.05 – Samuel Curtis is approached by an acquaintance of his, the Blueberry Pirate, with a mission. He is to provide a group of women of New Venus with a new young man for mating. In exchange for this new stud, they will relinquish their currently deceased stud, whose family is offering an immense reward for his body. Curtis sets off in search of the perfect replacement, the Boy Who Actually Saw a Woman’s Breast(!) to complete the mission and buy a new starship with the money.

2125.09 – A dangerous mission reunites Samuel Curtis with his long lost accomplice, The Quasar Kid(!). These two ex-convicts earn a criminal record purge in exchange for the rescue of a young girl who is being held captive by the genetically designed figurehead of a very wealthy planet [CLASSIFIED].

2127.08.26 – Moreau – Stingray Sam plays poker with two members of the GCS Icarus, Dianne Kubiac and Alia Ravenhell at the bar of Sandflame Cliff. He agrees to carry some cargo for them to GCS Templaria B, a robot disguised as Cath-Palug Monroe.

2127.10.10 – Neutral Zone A merchant called Samuel Curtis helped the Erstwhile in one occasion when their computer broke and he traded with Thadiun Okona for a replacement. Captain Curtis was carrying in his ship a passenger with a criminal past called Henry Evans but Tazara never reported Curtis. Later that year, Captain Curtis sold her a White Psi-Crystal.
